TRIBAL HOUSING IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAMThe Tribal Housing Improvements Program’s (THIP) objective is to provide safe, sanitary, and decent housing for Absentee Shawnee Tribal members by utilizing the criteria of “neediest households”. We provide rehabilitation services to homes that are in disrepair, but are still suitable for rehab. In accordance with THIP policies and procedures, THIP provides for the renovation of homes that extend beyond home maintenance, such as new roofs, flooring, handicap access, and heating and air conditioning system renovations, ect. The THIP program does not provide rehab for simply cosmetic purposes. |
