General Description

The Desktop Support Analyst’s primary role is to support and maintain the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Health Program’s internal users and infrastructure. The Desktop Support Analyst will serve as a point of contact for company's internal user population, supporting the staff on a variety of desktop support initiatives. This position must have strong technical and analytical skills, demonstrated knowledge of the use of technology, as well as strong interpersonal skills in dealing with a wide range of users with varying levels of computer familiarity.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Answer, evaluate and prioritize requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, telecommunication, audio-visual and other IT related technologies.
  • Support, troubleshoot and assist in the maintenance of Windows operating systems.
  • Create and maintain Active Directory and Exchange email accounts.
  • Assist with maintaining asset inventory tracking and licensing information.
  • Perform hardware and software installation and updates.
  • Scan for and remove malware from company computers.
  • Perform physical and software network surveillance in accordance with HIPAA federal requirements for medical IT infrastructure.
  • Run reports as requested from electronic medical records software; training in creation and execution of ad hoc reports in SQL may be provided to the employee on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred, or Associates degree in Computer related field; demonstration of applicable job experience with satisfactory performance for at least 2 years in a similar position will be considered as a substitute.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to assist non-technical users.
  • Thorough knowledge of troubleshooting of PC hardware and peripherals.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Windows operating systems including Windows XP/7/10; Windows server 2008/2012/2016.
  • Prior working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Office Suite.
  • Active Directory administration experience.
  • Exposure to PC virtualization technology.
  • Experience with running SQL database queries.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
