General Description
This position is located within the boundaries of the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Clinic – Shawnee location. The Shawnee Clinic is an outpatient multi-disciplinary clinic established and managed by the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. The Shawnee Clinic is an ambulatory clinic that provides direct care services to Native American patients. The purpose of the position is to provide overall pharmacy assistance to the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Members. This position is under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist.
Responsibilites & Duties
Accurately prepare medication orders under the direction of a pharmacist, i.e. measure, mix, count, label
Must be computer literate.
Experience in inventory control
Must have the ability to act in a professional manner, and relate well to Tribal Members and the general public.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
Must be reliable and prompt, while possessing strong work ethics.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Pharmacy Technician licensure with the State Board of Pharmacy must be current and in good standing.
Minimum 2 years of prior work experience as a licensed technician required.
Work experience with Tribal and Federal programs that affect Native American communities preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Nationally certified (CPhT) preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Sitting, standing or walking for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling needed; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing and visual acuity.
Frequent lifting up to 15 pounds.
Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds.
