General Description
This position is located at the LSWN Clinic, Little Axe, OK.  The LSWN Clinic is an outpatient multi-disciplinary clinic established and managed by the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. The LSWN clinic is an ambulatory clinic that provides direct care services to Native American patients.  The purpose of the position is to provide diagnostic radiographic services for the clinic patients in an outpatient setting.  This position may also include additional duties outside the rim of Radiology. This position functions under the supervision of the Deputy Director, Clinic Medical Director, Physician or Medical Provider.
Responsibilites & Duties
Receive patients, explain procedures, positions patients, select and set technical factors, sets up and adjusts equipment and make the necessary exposures for the requested procedure.
Independently make routine radiographic examination of head, trunk, spine, extremities and abdomen for diagnosis of illness or injury.
Provide a clean and safe area for the patients and co-workers in the clinic. Make minor repairs and adjustments to the x-ray equipment.
Maintain a log book on all equipment containing problems with equipment, service call and all repairs done.
Provide monthly report on the number of exams administered; provide information to reading Radiologist and Medical Director of Shawnee Clinic.
Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma and post-secondary training as a Radiologic Technologist.
Must be registered through ARRT
Experience with digital and PACS radiology systems.
Must have independent performance of a number of complex and difficult examinations: prefer at least three (3) years’ experience.
Knowledge of radiographic exposure technique and formulas in order to control contrast, density, magnification and distortion.
Knowledge of radiation protection stands, devices and techniques with the understanding of the limitation of each and the ability to understand and compensate for each.
Knowledge of physiology, anatomy and the appearance and location of major organ systems such as the urinary tract, digestive and respiratory systems.
The ability to operate the radiology equipment alone.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Skills and Attributes:
The ability to correctly position patients for radiographic exposure including the ability to make technical adjustments tom compensate for body size, frail patients, and immobile patients.
The ability to interact well with patients, staff, and other agency professionals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good organizational assessment skills.
The ability to fully utilize a computer.
The ability to perform duties with a minimum of supervision.
The ability to function as a team member.
The ability to be dependable team member of the clinic setting and be ready to start work on time.
