General Description
This position is to ensure the surveillance department is safeguarding the assets and liabilities of Thunderbird Casino and the Absentee Shawnee Tribe. Ensures adequate camera coverage is provided throughout the facility in accordance to the Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) of the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), follows the policies and procedures as approved by the Executive Committee and complies with the Tribal-State Compact.  The Surveillance Manager is also responsible for administering department policies and procedures, objectives, and standards.  Ensures confidentiality of information regarding reports, investigations, and suspicious activities of employees/patrons.  Ensures staff is properly trained on table game cheats & scams, policies and procedures, emergency situations, surveillance equipment, and other required regulations. 
Responsibilities
  • Ensures adequate camera coverage is provided throughout the facility in accordance to the NIGC MICS standards.
  • Ensures staff is properly trained on table game cheats & scams, policies and procedures, emergency situations, surveillance equipment, and other required regulations.
  • The Surveillance Manageris responsible for the overall direction and evaluation of the surveillance supervisors, operators and techs.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, performance reviews, directing work, and addressing issues and resolving conflicts. 
  • Analyzes data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in controls, fraud, or lack of compliance with tribal, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensures confidentiality of information regarding reports, investigations, and suspicious activities of employees/patrons.
  • Testing of staff for job proficiency.
  • Reviews reports from surveillance operators and identifies problem areas in addition to preparing reports for the Gaming Commission of findings and deficiencies resulting from employee non-compliance or suspicious activities. 
  • Provide monthly reports to the Executive Director of the Gaming Commission.
  • Ensures proper functioning of equipment.
  • Maintains repair log for Surveillance System.
  • Responsible for the preparation and management of the Surveillance Department budget.
  • Coordinates maintenance, repair and upgrade activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of the Gaming Commission.
Education Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or other related fields is preferred.  At least three years experience in regulatory, managerial, investigative, or gaming preferred.   Candidate must have prior Surveillance supervisory experience.
  • Position requires the ability to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays.
  • Must posses a valid Oklahoma Drivers License. Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain an Absentee Shawnee Tribal Gaming License.
