General Description

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the operations of the food pantry, including but not limited to supervision and coordination of workers, purchasing and restocking food pantry items, cost and quality control, coordination of food pickup program, monthly statistics and reports as required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the opening, closing, and overall general operation of the Food Pantry during hours of operation.
  • Maintains food pantry inventory by placing orders with vendors as well as purchasing food and non-food items from local stores.
  • Provide monthly reports to oversight
  • Work with area agencies to request donations
  • Coordinate outreach to tribal members needing assistance
  • Utilize FIFO (First In First Out) inventory practices to ensure food quality and minimize waste
  • Organize packing for monthly pickups or deliveries
  • Implement food pantry safety policies and procedures
  • Train, schedule, and provides daily supervision of food pantry workers.
  • Updates and modifies food pantry menu as needed with dietitians.
  • Packs food pantry orders and stocks shelves as needed.
  • Responsible for implementing food pantry policies and procedures.
  • Ensure confidentiality for the facility and recipients of services.
  • Ensuring all policies and guidelines are followed with the storage and distribution of all items.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements and Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of management experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers License
  • Must be dependable, punctual and display a friendly attitude, and knowledge and observance of safe food handling procedures.
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication and the ability to plan and organize multiple work tasks as well as good interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, walk or climb.
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
