The Absentee Shawnee Tribe is primarily located in the heart of central Oklahoma with approximately 4,661 members who live in all parts of the world as of December, 2023. Our tribal government complex is located in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Our logo features Tecumseh, a Shawnee warrior and visionary leader, who worked to unite tribes in a common homeland where Indians could live under their own laws and leaders. He died in October 1813, in battle near the area of present day Thamesville, in Toronto, Canada. The LI-SI-WI-NWI in our logo means “Among the Shawnee”

AST High School Seniors College Scholarship Entry Form AllNations Bank is providing one (1) $500 scholarship to an AST high school senior. The bank’s president, Steve Smith, is providing one (1) $500 scholarship to an AST high school senior. These scholarships are to assist in furthering their education after high school. After School Program Start Date & Out of School Time

Parents,
We are pleased to announce that our start date for the After School Program will be August 16, 2021. At this time, we will only be able to pick up from Tecumseh Schools and South Rock Creek.  As soon as we are able to hire more tutors we will expand to the Shawnee Public School. At this time, we are only taking waiting list applications. Families will be notified as soon as we are able to compile the enrollment list.

Tribal Complex moves to a modified Phase III, Monday, July 26, 2021

Due to the spike of COVID-19 the Executive Committee has made changes as follows:
All employees and visitors are required to wear a mask. Masks are also required at all meetings.
Temperature check will still be required of employees and visitors. 
Appointments are now required for any visitors. 
Front doors to each of the business buildings will return to a locked status.

American Recovery Plan Act Important Dates

Please note the dates for The American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) funds distribution process .This will be for ALL Absentee Shawnee Tribal members and will be a one-time $3000 disbursement.
June 30th – Special Executive Committee Meeting to pass the resolution approving the distributions
July 6th – Application process begins
October 29th – Application deadline
