General Description

 
This position is located within the Absentee Shawnee Tribe Health Programs at the Little Axe location.  The Grant Coordinator will be responsible for the all prevention efforts and outreach activities under the SAMHSA Native Connections Grant, which aims to reduce suicidal behavior and substance use and promote mental health among Native Youth.   These activities include: monitoring the time line, working directly with partners, creating partnerships, conducting presentations, and trainings, and coordinating evaluation activities.  The Grant Coordinator will communicate with the tribe’s and tribal mental health programs, and be responsible for completing program scope of work activities. 

Responsibilities

 
Primary Duties include, but not limited to:
 
  • Monitors grant program to endure compliance with contract provisions and funding source regulations
  • Will meet weekly with the Project Director and provide on-going updates.
  • Plans, coordinates, and monitors grant funded program activities and special projects.
  • Acts as a liaison and resource to the tribal community, organizations and partnerships.
  • Assist Evaluator and in collecting, recording, measuring, and reporting of data; conduct community assessments.
  • Coordinated the development, production, ordering and dissemination of educational materials and promotional items.
  • Assist in preparation of grant reports as required by grantee.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 

Education Requirements and qualifications

Native American Preference/EEO/Drug Free/Smoke Free Workplace
 
  • Bachelor Degree in a behavioral science field from an accredited university
  • Maintain a valid, unrestricted Oklahoma Driver’s License
  • Demonstrated proficiency in grants management, public speaking, group facilitation, training, prevention program development, prevention evaluation, strategic planning, and implementation, and data compilation.
  • Understand principles, practices and techniques of grant project planning, development, evaluation, procedures of budget preparation and monitoring, and contracted services.
  • Immediate to advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Culturally sensitive.
  • Pre- Employment criminal background check and drug testing is required.
