General Description

This position provides oversight to the Transportation Program and Community Outreach of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe; supports the AST Health Systems’ mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising transport staff and perform Community Outreach services as needed.
  • Develops and ensures effective overall operations of patient transport and outreach activities.
  • Ensures that a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Establishing and adjusting work procedures to meet work schedules for the department staff.
  • Monitors and ensures that employees are performing their functions safely and productively.
  • Establishes performance metrics and goals for the transport and outreach departments.
  • Compile monthly reports received from the department staff.
  • Responsible for timekeeping and leave approvals for the transportation department.
  • Provides effective communications, working collaboratively with the departments.
  • Develops transport and outreach departments to be highly effective and to provide quality service to patients.
  • Ensures maintenance is performed on the vehicles and equipment regularly.
  • Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures.
  • Must work with the General Services Administration Agency and submit monthly mileage report, and vehicle leasing/exchange.
  • Responds to complaints regarding transportation and outreach program.
  • Completes department compliance reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Native American Preference/EEO/Drug Free /Smoke Free Workplace
Education
  • High School graduation or equivalent.
  • Some college preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan and supervise the work of others.
  • Fluency in understanding the Shawnee Language preferred.
  • Be culturally sensitive to Native population and needs.  
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to recommend and initiate program improvements or modifications.
  • Prepare and present oral and written reports.
  • Assist and provide direction to the employees as it relates to personnel issues and concerns.
  • Effective communication techniques using tact and professionalism.
Training and Experience
  • Experience in medical settings preferred.
  • Five years Administrative or Supervisory skills.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
  • Must have valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass background check.
  • Must be able to complete a negative result on a drug test.
