The Absentee Shawnee Tribe is primarily located in the heart of central Oklahoma with approximately 4,760 members who live in all parts of the world as of December 31, 2025. Our tribal government complex is located in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Our logo features Tecumseh, a Shawnee warrior and visionary leader, who worked to unite tribes in a common homeland where Indians could live under their own laws and leaders. He died in October 1813, in battle near the area of present day Thamesville, in Toronto, Canada. The LI-SI-WI-NWI in our logo means “Among the Shawnee”

After School Program-Horseshoe Bend Accepting Applications
• ASP-HSB for school age children ages 5 years (Kinder) thru 12 years
• For AST Enrolled Children who attend North Rock Creeks Schools
• Summer Program Begins Soon
• Will be Open M-F, 7:30P-5:30P
• Closed when NRC is closed
• ASP-HSB is not DHS Licensed
• Snacks will be provided
• Accepting all children but AST and Native children with CDI B cards will have preference.
AllNations Bank is providing one (2) $500 scholarships to AST high school seniors. The information you provide below will be used to contact you regarding your entry. You will be notified if your name has been selected and we will schedule a time for you to take a photo to be placed in the AST Newsletter and on the Tribe’s media outlets. The scholarship check will be issued directly to the school the student attends.
Are you a Native American student who is seeking a future in a healthcare related field?
Available internships - 12 internships positions
Date range - June 2 - July 25th (8 week program)
Hours - An average of 20 hours a week
Pay - $13 per hour
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Must be Native American (AST Preferred) with a valid CDIB card
Current GPA of 3.0 or above preferred
Must be a High School Senior (Class of 2025) or current College/Vo-Tech student
