The Absentee Shawnee Tribe is primarily located in the heart of central Oklahoma with approximately 4,576 members who live in all parts of the world as of January 2022. Our tribal government complex is located in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Our logo features Tecumseh, a Shawnee warrior and visionary leader, who worked to unite tribes in a common homeland where Indians could live under their own laws and leaders. He died in October 1813, in battle near the area of present day Thamesville, in Toronto, Canada. The LI-SI-WI-NWI in our logo means “Among the Shawnee”

Edwards Lane, Shawnee, OK 74801 Purpose:  The purpose of this public hearing is to allow public comments relating to the draft AST 102-477 plan.  The final Plan will be submitted to the P.L. 102-477 for the approval of the plan to be used for the plan period 1/1/2023-12/31/2025.  The public is encouraged to attend this meeting to give feedback on the draft plan and this input will be considered when completing the final AST 102-477 Plan.  Items of interest to be discussed will include the following: Employment, Education and Training Services Enhance the Quality of Child Care If anyone who wishes to comment but cannot attend the public hearing, they may do so by sending a letter to the AST CCDF Programs address or email astchildcare@astribe.com.  Copies of the draft AST 102-477 Plan can be requested prior to the hearing from ASTChildCare@astribe.com or by calling 405.275.4030.
