COVID-19 Relief Fund Programs

Program Summary: 

 
On behalf of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, the Executive Committee has established the COVID-19 Food and PPE Assistance Program in response to the pandemic. The Executive Committee understands the impact this pandemic has had on our AST community and wants nothing more than to help our people. That being said, the COVID-19 Food and PPE Assistance Program is designed to help assist membership to purchase food staples and needed personal protective equipment and/or cleaning supplies.
 
The COVID-19 Food and PPE Assistance Program is a one-time payment of $150.00 for eligible AST enrolled tribal members. This service will be distributed and/or mailed out as a Wal-Mart gift card. The Absentee Shawnee tribal members who meet the guidelines are eligible for this service. No payment or reimbursement will be made to the applicant. This one-time payment assistance will be used towards food staple items, personal protective equipment and/or cleaning supplies.

Qualification Requirement: 

COVID-19 Food and PPE Assistance Eligibility:
  • Must be an enrolled member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma on or before June 1st, 2020
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a copy of AST tribal members updated CDIB card (attached to application)
  • Must complete the COVID-19 Food and PPE Assistance Program application for AST tribal member
  • All applications MUST BE SUBMITTED ON OR BEFORE FRIDAY, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13th, 2020

  • A complete COVID-19 Food and PPE Assistance Program application
  • A copy of AST tribal members updated CDIB card

Program Summary: 

On behalf of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, the Executive Committee has established the COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program in response to the pandemic. The Executive Committee understands the impact this pandemic has had on our AST community and wants nothing more than to help serve our people. With this being said, the COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program is designed to help alleviate the risk of energy utility service disconnection (i.e. electricity, gas, propane or heating oil/wood).

The COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program is a one-time payment of $300.00 for eligible AST enrolled tribal members. This service can be used as a credit or full payment for (1) energy bill. The Absentee Shawnee tribal members who meet the guidelines are eligible for this service. Any unpaid balances from previous residences, any re-connection fees or deposits of any kind that are not “energy costs” will not be paid.

The one-time payment of $300.00 will be made to the vendor (energy utility company). No payment or reimbursement will be made to the applicant. This one-time payment assistance will be used towards one (1) energy utility bill.

Benefit: 

One-time payment of $300.00 for eligible AST enrolled tribal members

Program Summary: 

Due to the economic fallout of the coronavirus, the Absentee Shawnee Tribe’s Executive Committee recognizes many of our tribal families are or have experienced income loss, income disruption or having overall financial difficulties meeting their monthly obligations for their primary (shelter-in-place) residence. This predicament has the potential to leave our Absentee Shawnee families more vulnerable to the current pandemic.

The home is the focal point in supporting a safe space for individuals and families since the onset of this pandemic. Usually staying within the confines of the home provides reasonable efforts to combat the spread of this disease by social distancing from others.

The Absentee Shawnee COVID-19 Home Relief Program is designed to decrease evictions/foreclosures, prevent homelessness and increase home stability by helping Absentee Shawnee families whose income has been adversely affected by COVID-19. The AST Executive Committee is providing a one-time relief payment of $500.00 for those who are experiencing affects from this pandemic. This will be a one (1) payment per tribal member.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a copy of AST tribal members updated CDIB card (attached to application)
  • Must complete the COVID-19 Home Relief Program application for AST tribal members
  • Home mortgage or rental contract must be in the enrolled AST tribal member and/or spouse’s name. (if in spouse’s name, spouse must reside in the home. AST member & spouse must attached driver’s license or state issued IDs) NO EXCEPTIONS
  • All Applications MUST BE SUBMITTED ON OR BEFORE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30th, 2020
