General Description
This position is located in the buildings and grounds of the Absentee Shawnee Health Clinic in the Community of Little Axe. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Security Guard for the buildings and grounds of the Little Axe Health Center and ensure the safety and security of its occupants. May be required to cross-over at Shawnee Campus. A character investigation may be conducted on applicants selected for employment. The purpose of such an investigation is to secure evidence of the candidate’s honesty, integrity and general character.
Responsibilities & Duties
Control personnel access by monitoring the identification of individuals entering, controlled areas; refers person who lack proper credentials to a control point to arrange access.
Consider and respond appropriately to the needs and feelings of different people in different situations.
Coordinate emergency responses with police officers, fire and other emergency units.
Lift patients onto wheelchair, stretcher and/or exam table as needed.
Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic control during disaster events and drills.
Prepare reports describing events as they happened includes maintaining an activity log to document shift activity.
Subdue individuals causing disturbances when necessary.
Direct traffic, maintain roadblocks, block off areas and parking lots for special occasions, or as a measure of traffic control as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education Requirements and Qualifications
High School Graduate or GED Equivalent.
Must be 21 years of age and must be C.L.E.E.T. armed certified or be willing to get certified within the first year of employment.
Experience such as work with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life.
Knowledge of protective systems and techniques.
Experience as a psychiatric nursing assistant or a similar position safeguarding patients preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Prolonged sitting, standing, or walking; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping; good finger dexterity and sensory perception; frequent repetitive motions; as well as talking, hearing, and visual acuity are required.
Frequent lifting (up to 15 lbs)
Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)
This position requires moderate to arduous physical exertion and/or duties of a hazardous nature. The following medical requirements apply to all applicants: good near and distant vision, ability to distinguish basic colors, and ability to hear the conversational voice.
