General Description

Responsible for implementing Family Preservation Program and Permanency Planning duties.  Will assist at risk families by providing services needed to promote family strength and stability.  Increase parents’ competence by providing Parenting Skill classes, help families obtain services that meet their needs in an appropriate manner and prevent unnecessary out of home placement and assist families after reunification. ICW will also provide case management services to children and families of the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Community and represents the Tribe at community gatherings, local, county and state meetings where the Tribe has an interest.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information and referral services that assist families in accessing community services.
  • Must provide transportation when needed, prepare case plans, perform home visits, and provide follow-up care.
  • Maintain all records of clients in a confidential manner.
  • Must have knowledge in the social work field, domestic violence, criminal justice, and coordination of services.
  • Willing to work irregular hours as needed
  • Ensures that client files are maintained on each child/family that has open cases.
  • Prepares reports and other documents as required by the Tribal Representative.
  • Ensures that accurate, timely and effective consultation and/or training are being provided for ICW families.
  • Strongly adheres to Tribal Confidentiality Policy.
  • Must be responsible and reliable.
  • Must possess a history of excellent work attendance.
  • Must have excellent written and communications skills and stay highly organized with paperwork and client files.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; or education and work experience in the helping field, of at least four years combined.
  • Must be computer literate and possess adequate written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s license.
  • Must adhere to Absentee Shawnee Tribe Personnel Policies and Drug and Alcohol Policies.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test for pre-employment for the Tribe.
  • Must be able to pass a State Criminal background check.
