General Description
The Desktop Support Analyst’s primary role is to support and maintain the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Health Program’s internal users and infrastructure. The Desktop Support Analyst will serve as a point of contact for company’s internal user population, supporting the staff on a variety of desktop support initiatives. This position must have strong technical and analytical skills, demonstrated knowledge of the use of technology, as well as strong interpersonal skills in dealing with a wide range of users with varying levels of computer familiarity.
Responsibilities & Duties
Answer, evaluate and prioritize requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, telecommunication, audio-visual and other IT related technologies.
Support, troubleshoot and assist in the maintenance of Windows operating systems.
Create and maintain Active Directory and Exchange email accounts.
Assist with maintaining asset inventory tracking and licensing information.
Perform hardware and software installation and updates.
Scan for and remove malware from company computers.
Perform physical and software network surveillance in accordance with HIPAA federal requirements for medical IT infrastructure.
Run reports as requested from electronic medical records software; training in creation and execution of ad hoc reports in SQL may be provided to the employee on an as-needed basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Qualifications
Associates degree in Computer related field.
CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
Experience in lieu of education can be considered on a year for year match.
Strong knowledge and understanding of Windows operating systems including Windows XP/7/10; Windows server 2008/2012/2026.
Thorough knowledge of troubleshooting of PC hardware and peripherals.
Prior working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Office Suite.
Active Directory administration experience.
Exposure to PC virtualization technology.
Experience with running SQL database queries.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills and a desire to assist non-technical users.
Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
