General Description
The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the HIM Department and will be stationed at the LI-SI-WI –NWI Health Center at Little Axe. Primary job responsibilities will be assisting the Director with special projects, monthly productivity statistics, maintaining updated policies, and providing assistance to program staff as needed.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Create and implement training related activities for presentations, emails and other related informational needs.
  • Serve as alternate for submission of ZixEncrypt documents to the Health Attorney.
  • Attend meeting, training, etc., when directed by supervisor.
  • Maintain training log for each HIM staff member.
  • Prepare reports, statistics, and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheets, database, or presentation software.
  • Assist HIM staff in daily scanning and release of information duties as needed. Will receive software training on continuous basis.
  • Assure compliance with all HIPAA regulations concerning use, retrieval, storage, and sharing or records.
  • Responsible for developing and revising the HIM Step by Step Office Guide.
  • Assist in developing and revising HIM policies and procedures.
  • Prepare purchase orders for HIM supplies and maintains log of expenditures.
  • Perform general office duties such as answering the telephone, recording minutes of meetings, tracking staff days off, and maintaining the Director’s schedule.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of professional or technical administrative experience in medical administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in lieu of education can be considered on a year for year match.
  • Must have one year of scanning/indexing experience with knowledge of release of information requests.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Able to work independently with very little supervision.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, or walking; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping; good finger dexterity and sensory perception; frequent repetitive motions; as well as talking, hearing, and visual acuity are required.
  • Frequent lifting (up to 15 lbs)
  • Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)
