General Description
The incumbent will provide direct outpatient clinical, prevention, and educational services to children, adolescents, and adults; to include crisis intervention & Therapeutic modalities.
Responsibilities & Duties
Provide assessments, orientation, screening/initial intake, develop mutually agreed upon children, adolescents and/or family treatment and discharge, aftercare planning, services plans.
Meet with patients (children and adolescents) to obtain information pertinent to providing outpatient mental health counseling services.
Design a treatment plan tailored to the patient’s individual situation based on knowledge of mental health issues, mental health illnesses, counseling, and treatment modalities.
Utilize a combination of individual and group counseling sessions to help the patients, and to observe their attitudes and readiness for accepting guidance.
Meet with family members to educate them on the most useful role that they can play in the patient’s treatment process.
Assist with other staff members in prevention/intervention activities for individuals, families, and the community.
Maintain Service Encounters in HER, Electronic Health Records, on a daily basis. Modifies the patient’s treatment program as appropriate on the basis of observation.
Document daily work load, contact, etc. and will submit a month report.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education Requirements and Qualifications
Must have a Master’s Degree in counseling/Mental Health or related field from an accredited university as a Licensed Professional Counselor; Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
At least three years of experience in providing mental health treatment with a minimum of one year in working with children and adolescents
Clinical back ground in some of the following therapeutic disciplines: CBT, DBT, Family systems, Narrative therapy, Play therapy, Art therapy
Required to have an OSBI clearance, must not have convictions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to plan own work and carry out assignments effectively.
Ability to communicate with other effectively both orally and in writing in working out solutions to problems or questions relating to work.
Ability to establish rapport and gain the confidence of others (physicians, nurses, patients, and associates).
Knowledge of the cultural and social backgrounds of the Native American population.
Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity
