General Description
This position provides critical ancillary pharmacy services to support patient care at the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Clinics. Key responsibilities include managing third-party insurance claims, identifying insurance coverage, overseeing inventory control, sourcing medications from wholesalers, and performing tasks that contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the pharmacy department.
Responsibilities & Duties
Review and process all third-party insurance claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payer requirements.
Monitor inventory trends to control costs and maintain appropriate stock levels.
Prepare monthly reports detailing insurance activity and inventory performance.
Develop and distribute educational materials to train pharmacy technicians and clerks on third-party billing and inventory procedures.
Actively contribute to the mission, vision, and objectives of the department and organization.
Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Must hold a valid Pharmacy Technician license.
Five (5) or more years of pharmacy experience preferred.
In-depth knowledge of third-party billing, prior authorizations, audits, and drug utilization review (DUR) processes.
Strong background in inventory control and medication pricing strategies.
Proficiency in Liberty RX and pharmaceutical wholesale ordering platforms.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with Tribal or Federal programs impacting Native American communities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Professional demeanor with the ability to work effectively with Tribal members and the general public.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Positive attitude and strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Prolonged sitting, standing, or walking; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping; good finger dexterity and sensory perception; frequent repetitive motions; as well as talking, hearing, and visual acuity are required.
