The Tribal Victim Services Coordinator will oversee the delivery of all direct services, grant reporting, grant compliance, and all other oversight pertaining to the administration of this grant and its goals. This person will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field with experience in domestic violence or assisting victims of crime. The Tribal Victim Services Coordinator for the OVC TVS Set-Aside FY20 grant under Domestic Violence Department of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma will be responsible for the planning, coordination and development of all activities related to the enhancements and expansion of services for victims. Also, the coordinator will work alongside the Domestic Violence Staff to assist with the coordination and management of other victims of crime such as domestic violence, dating violence, sex trafficking and stalking.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge of grant implementation and record keeping.
Responds to victims of crime that is reported to the domestic violence department.
Knowledge of Tribal burial customs and healing practices.
Maintain confidentiality of clients and all documentation related to each case.
Prepare reports and collect data as needed for program evaluation and grant compliance.
Provide crisis intervention, resource/referral, and support to individuals seeking shelter, housing, legal advocacy, counseling, and other community resources.
Provide community education through participation in community/tribal outreach events.
Assist victims/survivors in knowing their rights about obtaining a Protective Order and what to do when the order is violated.
Determine appropriate services for incoming clients.
Be thoroughly familiar with the policies and procedures guiding the work of this posit on in particular and the program or department overall. Perform job functions in line with these policies and procedures.

Increase knowledge of local referral sources and ability to coordinate services with other providers.
Maintains regular office hours and be on call for meeting with victims/survivors to make it easier for the victim/survivor to initiate criminal proceedings or receive assistance. Be available for on-call duty to provide direct services to clients identified as victims of domestic/ sexual violence.
Work with hired outside contractor to assist with the Domestic Violence Program Scan/Assessment. Gather and provide all needed documentation and data.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as law enforcement reports, government or agency regulations and legal interpretations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and policy and procedure recommendations. Ability to speak effectively before individuals, public groups and employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts required to assist with budget management.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Assist families to resolve complex family situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Preference will be given to persons with the following or similar certifications: Certified Domestic & Sexual Violence Response Professional, State-Certified Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training Program.
The employee work environment may have some hostile characteristics encountered while performing the primary functions of this job. Clients may be encountered in their home or other public spaces. The employee should have knowledge of techniques to deal with hostile clients.
This job will require some in-state and out-of-state travel.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
