General Description
This position will assist the Secretary in oversight duties of programs and any projects assigned.  Taking directives, planning, researching, organizing, implementing and directing action as necessary.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Assist the Secretary in the day-to-day operations of their oversight programs.
  • Oversight of the Mail room and Main Receptionist.
  • Coordinate schedules, meetings and events.
  • Work on any and all aspects of projects as directed; including but not limited to research, development, organizing, implementing and evaluating.
  • Submit progress reports on assigned projects.
  • Work with oversight program Directors/Staff to improve and increase efficiency and quality of services.
  • Attend meeting as directed for any program, project or plan. Report information back to Secretary to make decisions.
  • Will serve as a representative of the Secretary when needed at community outreach functions.
  • Attend training as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Some college or technical education preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of job-related experience.
  • Possess professional written and verbal communication. 
  • Professional interpersonal skills and appearance.  Ability to motivate staff and produce work products in a timely manner. 
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. 
  • Ability to work and interact with diverse individuals.
  • Excellent computer skills required especially Excel and Word. 
  • Knowledge of federal grants, BIA and IHS Self Governance contracts, State Compacts, Federal laws, codes and regulations relating to sovereign nations.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License. 
  • Must be able to pass a background check. 
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity.
  • Frequent lifting (up to 15 lbs)
  • Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)
