General Description
This position is located in the Little Axe Health Clinic in the Community of Little Axe. The incumbent will be responsible for operating the console telephone switchboard for the health center, which includes placing and receiving regular and special long distance calls as well as keeping a detailed log of said activity.
Responsibilities & Duties
Receives and relays incoming, outgoing, and interoffice messages for staff members.  The console consists of several outside lines and extensions throughout the Health Center.
Provides organizational information to callers using printed directories. Provides routine, authorized information) i.e. telephone and extension numbers, names and locations to caller’s inquiries).  Places local and commercial long distance calls for staff members.  Adjusts console controls for re-routing of telephone calls according to schedule hours of duty.
Operates the public address system using prescribed hospital emergency and special codes to page and alert staff members.
Maintains records used as guidelines in telephone operational and reception, such as telephone directories, organizational listings and functional statements, patient census directories, etc.
Provides clerical support for administrative staff to include establishing and maintaining office files, maintaining the conference room schedule and making folders.  Composes routine correspondence, types, and/or worked processes technical correspondence. 
Must be able to problem solve routinely occurring issues and problems.
Must provide customer service on a high level.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduation or the equivalent.
Six (6) months generalized switchboard experience. 
Progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates ability to perform the duties of the position.
Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must be able to pass a drug test.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity
