General Description
This position is located at the AST Li-SI-Wi-Nwi in Little Axe, Ok Community.  Under general supervision, this position performs responsible accounting support and administrative work in preparation, processing, maintenance and verification of accounting documents and records as they pertain to financial transactions.
Responsibilities & Duties
Responsible for receiving visitors, whether in person or by phone, to the Finance Department.  Duties include:
Mail pickup and delivery
Maintains filing system for checks and accompanying paperwork paid to vendors
Filling out Supply Requests and ordering supplies
Producing weekly calendar
Receives all funds for deposit, including from all departments, and prepares for delivery to Accounting Assistant or Staff Accountant I
Takes deposits to bank
Runs errands as assigned
Maintains Petty Cash
Checks out credit cards and travel cards
Contacts individuals and program managers for check pickup and distributes checks as requested by Accounts Payable
Maintains bulletin board
Helps with projects as requested by Health Finance personnel
Performs all other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary
Scans entries and attaches them in the accounting system
Enters data in the financial software system.
Reviews and reconciles API transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of posting.
Reviews, processes, inputs and, as approved code invoices and other accounts payable.
Contacts vendors with questions and/or responds to vendor inquiries and concerns. 
Provides requested information as assigned, creates or generates related reports or schedules and locates and pull requested information for drafts or documentation.
Review, audit and reconciles vendor monthly statements for accuracy and completeness.
Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payments for all Complete Care Home Health.
Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Native American Preference/EEO/Drug Free /Smoke Free Workplace
High School Graduate with 5 years relevant experience or Associates Degree or 2 years’ experience as an accounting technician, accounting clerk.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of methods, practices, documents and terminology used in financial and accounting record keeping; practices and procedures of basic governmental budgeting and accounting; fundamental accounting and internal control policies and procedures; standard office practices and procedures.
Analytical experience in the Accounting field interpreting and applying Accounting principles, concepts, regulations and practices.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to relate well with co-workers and the general public.
Ability to adjust to changing conditions.
Must be able to keep on schedule, set priorities and exercise sound judgment within established guidelines.
Must be able to operate a calculating machine and other standard office equipment.
Must be computer literate required (Windows operating systems – Microsoft Word, Excel). 
Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
