The purpose of the position is to provide nutrition/health education to community members through multiple avenues including but not restricted to: assist with the in-school Eagle Adventure Program, after school health and tutoring, assist with patient care processes along with multiple other aspects of activity- based interactive nutrition education through community outreach efforts to promote wellness within the Absentee Shawnee Tribe service area under the supervision of the Diabetes and Wellness Program Director. Continuation of position is contingent based on availability of grant funds.

Responsibilities |
Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following:
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a variety of settings: schools, health centers, community centers, and agencies. Work involves vehicle operation in isolated rural areas, on unimproved roads and in heavily congested traffic areas. Must be aware of all risks involved and be willing to take precautions as requested or required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work driving a vehicle in all types of weather and on all types of roads. Must physically be able to walk, climb, and go over rough terrain and up and down stairs at homes, schools or community facilities. Incumbent must be able to lift at least fifty (50) pounds. Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and reliable transportation. Must be able to pass a background check. Must show proof of current vaccination records and test negative on two consecutive tuberculosis tests upon hire.
