General Description
This position is located at the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Clinic- Little Axe Clinic in Norman Oklahoma. The Little Axe Clinic is an outpatient multi-disciplinary clinic established and managed by the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. The Health System Bilingual Ambassador will provide visitors with directions and any information they require, ensuring that they’re greeted with courtesy every time they enter the facility.
Responsibilities Performs customer service functions by answering patient requests and questions.
Helps patients feel comfortable and give a positive first impression.
Anticipates and responds to patients in a friendly and positive manner.
Communicates clearly and professionally while interacting enthusiastically with patients and co-workers.
Patients may sometimes be frustrated, confused, or angry, so it’s vital that greeters are able to remain calm, professional, and polite.
Has knowledge of relevant services throughout the Health System.
Works as a team player in meeting patient needs and actively contributing to the efforts of all other departments.
Provides optimal levels of customer service wherever possible.
Analyzes the customer’s requirements and help them find the best solution by directing them to the appropriate department.
Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements and Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff.
Culturally sensitive to Native Americans, working experience preferred.
Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity.
Frequent lifting (up to 15 lbs)
Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)
Native American Preference/EOE/Drug Free Workplace.
