GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to provide administrative, programmatic support and cultural sensitivity to Indian Child Welfare department,
and may preform lower level paraprofessional child welfare tasks and duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates a high level professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues;
  • Answers and screens telephone calls in a professional and timely manner;
  • Provide administrative support and other related duties to include general office duties and case management;
  • Assist Case workers in coordinating activities with law enforcement, courts, and other entities- Federal,State, Tribal and local;
  • Connects clients with Tribal, State or local resources in a timely manner.
  • Assist Case workers in developing, implementing support services and individual services plan for clients;
  • Coordinates and documents interaction during supervised family visitations with Tribal cases;
  • Attend and ensures appropriate interaction during supervised family visitations with State cases;
  • Attend and testifies in Tribal and State child welfare case court hearings based on intervention with clients as needed;
  • Provide safe transportation for children and clients to scheduled appointments;
  • Scans documents into electronic format and reviews for errors such as smudges or line and rescans if necessary;
  • Enters data into computer database and maintains records of stored files;
  • Assist Administrative Clerk with internal/external mail;
  • Assist with special events and projects as assigned;
  • Assist Administrative Clerk in collecting information for the foster children's life book;
  • Other duties as assigned by Director.
 
EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of full-time relevant experience in a setting related to public contact.
  • Ability to understand and promote Indian Child Welfare federal law, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with co-workers, clients, other agencies, tribal membership and the courts.
  • Ability to use personal computer software applications such as Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task be organized and have excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's License.
  • Must be able to a pass comprehensive background check
