General Description
This position is located in the Pharmacy Department of the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Health Clinic. The purpose of the work is to provide assistance to the Pharmacist with professional duties and clinical responsibilities. This position involves technical support work in the pharmacy under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to prepare, dispense, and distribute medication and provide clinical monitoring and drug information in a manner, which ensures optimal patient care. The work consists of a variety of complex functions and requires the application of broad based and extensive knowledge of drugs and their uses and the proper practice of pharmacy services.   
Responsibilities & Duties
Duties involve preparation, supply functions, and inventory control of medications and other pharmaceutical products that are supplied by the pharmacy to the patients.
Performs the technical processes entailed in dispensing medications; accurate data entry into the computer; process insurance claims through the computer database; provides billing support in managing the pharmacy Point of Sale Package.
Stocks all automated dispensing cabinets.
Runs daily reports and perform routine maintenance.
Repair minor hardware and software problems for all automated dispensing cabinets.
Verifies identity of patient and refers to a pharmacist at appropriate times.
Evaluates pharmacy stock levels, places medication orders as needed.
Performs pharmacy stock inspections for outdated drug supplies, overstocked situations, handles drug recall notices and remove stock from all locations in pharmacy for pharmacist destruction/disposition.
Expected to be able to arrange work in peak workload demands and compensate for unusual problems.
Assists pharmacist in counseling patient on medications, transferring prescriptions, taking new orders, and contacting and conferring with physicians concerning the appropriate drug, dose, drug allergy, and drug-drug interactions.
Expected to have prompt, daily attendance.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Must have current Oklahoma Pharmacy Intern Licensure.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, be of good moral character, good public relations skills, ability to interact with patients and staff.
Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Must be able to pass a background check.
