General Description
This position is located within the Absentee Shawnee Tribe’s Health Programs at the Little Axe Location. The Little Ace Clinic is an outpatient multi-disciplinary clinic established and managed by the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. The LAHC is an ambulatory clinic that provides direct care services to Native American patients. The purpose of the position is to provide overall pharmacy assistance to the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Members. This position is under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist.
Responsibilities & Duties
Accurately prepare medication orders under the direction of a pharmacist, i.e. measure, mix, count, label
Must be computer literate.
Must have the ability to act in a professional manner, and relate well to Tribal Members and the general public
Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
Must be reliable and prompt, while possessing strong work ethics.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Requirements and Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
New Pharmacy Technician licensure can be obtained during initial training. If already licensed, licensure with the State Board of Pharmacy must be current and in good standing.
Work experience with Tribal and Federal programs that affect Native American communities preferred.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nationally certified (CPht) preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must be able to pass a drug test.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity
Frequent lifting (up to 15 lbs)
Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)
