General Description
This Strategic Prevention Framework-Partnership for Success (SPF-PFS) Project Director Position will require leadership, organizational skills, program development, management, administration, and evaluation experience; and expertise in the areas of behavioral health, health communication, and community development. This position is responsible for coordination of activities across the healthcare system, recruiting stakeholders, providing technical consultation at the local level, interacting with the public, working closely with the tribe, and data collection. As Project Director you will be responsible for day-to-day activities including organizing events, activities, presentations, training, and establishing communication between staff, community members, schools, and other relevant agencies.
Responsibilities & Duties
Required duties may occur at either the Absentee Shawnee Tribe Health System (ASTHS) in Little Axe or the AST Shawnee Health Clinic in support of programmatic objectives and to service the entire tribal population located in our five county service area.
General: Attend all related meeting and trainings. Travel to meet grant requirements. Other duties as assigned.
Community engagement: Actively engage with community members, attend events, and identify stakeholders, to build, develop, and engage related resources and organizations to maximize reach and impact of SPF program and initiatives
Program management: Lead a team of individuals and managing the day-to-day operations of a grant project
Grant compliance: Ensure compliance with grant requirements per granting agency (SAMHSA), write and submit progress reports and all required documentation
Event/Program planning: Plan, execute, and scale community outreach programs, events, trainings, and networks to increase community involvement and awareness of current programming and research projects
Building relationships with relevant groups/ institutions: Including, but not limited to the school system, local police, tribal and local government, other tribal organizations and grant programs.
Data collection and analysis: Work with other Tribal grantees (AST and other tribes within our five county area) and Indian Health Service to gather, access, analyze and summarize opioid and substance abuse information. Collaborate with Tribal personnel and local communities to develop procedures for collection of data related to substance abuse.
Evaluation: Collaborates with Director of Behavioral Health Grants and SPF project team in the development, execution, and delivery of program evaluation.
HIPAA: Assure that confidentiality and participant protection procedures are appropriately administered.
Education Requirements and Qualifications
Required:
Master’s Degree in public health, health communication/promotion sciences, psychology, education, social work, addiction counseling, or similar related field or equivalent experience.
Program management, grant administration/management experience, or two-years of experience with a tribal behavioral health unit or cross-agency experience with community-based projects.
Demonstrated proficiency in grants management, public speaking, group facilitation, training, prevention program development, prevention evaluation, strategic planning and implementation, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Working knowledge of survey construction and descriptive statistics.
Immediate to advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
Must be able to pass a background check.
Maintain a valid, unrestricted Oklahoma Driver’s License
Must be able to pass a drug test
Strongly Preferred:
Experience working with adolescents, vulnerable populations
Experience working with native community
Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) or similar
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
