General Description
This position is located at the Absentee Shawnee Tribe Little Axe, OK Community. Under general supervision, this position performs responsible accounting support and administrative work in preparation, processing, maintenance and verification of accounting documents and records as they pertain to financial transactions.
Responsibilities & Duties
Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payments of all Absentee Shawnee Tribal Health Authority, Inc. and Complete Care Home Health transactions.
Identifies and works with appropriate department(s) and/or supervisors to resolve Accounts Payable Invoices discrepancies.
Enters data in the financial software system including but not limited to Microix and MIP.
Reviews and reconciles transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness before posting.
Reviews, processes, inputs and approved code to process invoices and other accounts payable.
Contacts vendors with questions and/or responds to vendor inquiries and concerns.
Provides requested information as assigned, creates or generates related reports or schedules and locates and pull requested information for drafts or documentation.
Prepare and process credit card payments.
Review, audit and reconciles vendor monthly statements for accuracy and completeness.
Answers and research all Health Department Director Accounts Payable, Disbursements and Financial
transactions inquiries and questions.
Work with Finance Staff to ensure ACH Debit to all bank account relating to Vendor disbursement is accurate, complete documentation match the receiving report, purchase order and microix request.
Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and or 4 years’ experience as an accounting technician, Accounting clerk or Accounts Payable Specialists, staff accountant or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of methods, practices, documents and terminology used in financial and accounting record keeping; practices and procedures of basic governmental budgeting and accounting; fundamental accounting and internal control policies and procedures; standard office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of the third party claims generation and accounts posting process.
Analytical experience in the Accounting field interpreting and applying Accounting principles, concepts, regulations and practices.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to relate well with co-workers and the general public.
Ability to adjust to changing conditions.
Must be able to keep on schedule, set priorities and exercise sound judgment within established guidelines.
Must be able to operate a calculating machine and other standard office equipment.
Must be computer literate required (Windows operating systems – Microsoft Word, Excel).
Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity.
