General Description
The Strategic Prevention Framework-Partnership for Success Grant Lead Epidemiologist will be responsible for data planning, collection, organization, polishing analysis, and reporting to support SPF project goals and objectives.  They will work closely with the Project Director and grant evaluator to ensure that all data requirements are fulfilled.  This information includes epidemiological analysis based on vital records, clinical data; disseminates result survey data, special studies, and performs other related duties as required.
Responsibilites & Duties
Required duties may occur at LSWN in support of programmatic objectives and to service the entire tribal population located in our entire service area.
Will work closely with the SPF team and collect and analyze data—through observations, interviews, and surveys, to find the targeted information
Communicate findings to report back to SAMHSA on programmatic reports
Use data to assist SPF team to monitor progress, and seek ways to improve the project as it matures
May also be expected to conduct some data related trainings, develop work plans, write reports, and coordinate with internal and external partners
Assist the Project Director in the creation and development of prevention activity efforts
Travel to meet grant requirements if necessary
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in public health from an accredited university with experience in applied epidemiology and project management. Experience with tribal organizations and/or not-for-profit agency is desired. Experience using a variety of computer programs (Epi info, SAS, word processors, spreadsheets and presentation software) a must.
Knowledge of Federal, State, and Tribal Social/Mental Health Programs.
Culturally sensitive.
Must have the knowledge of record keeping, charting, ethics, patient rights and responsibilities, HIPPA rule/regulations, and patient confidentiality.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity.
