General Description
Tax Administrator is responsible for all aspects of operations and services of the Tax Commission. Develops and administers the Tribal tax collection system. Researches and examines federal, state, and local agency records to identity taxable sources and ascertain appropriate amounts of collectible taxes. Phones visits, inspects, and monitors individual and taxable business operations and activities. Gathers data and other information related to maximum tax collections and compliance with Tribal laws and ordinances. Investigates delinquent tax cases, Examines business, personal or public records, and documents to establish facts and authenticity. Monitors sources of tax revenue, review records submitted, and ensures that all reports and remittances are properly completed in a timely manner. Administers the daily business of the Tax Commission in accordance with tribal tax laws.
Responsibilities & Duties
Ability to implement and understand regulation of tribal tax codes, procedures, guidelines and reports.
Ability to operate office technology and software to improve and maintain office efficiency.
Provide operational support in planning and scheduling of meetings, appointments, training and travel arrangements.
Prepare written correspondence and monthly meeting minutes.
Aide in budgetary recommendations, monitoring and analysis.
Must acquire a working knowledge of the entire Tax Commission administrative positions and be able to perform in their absence.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related areas (i.e., business, taxation and/or accounting, etc.) And/or 10 years of consecutive experience in field.
MBA Degree preferred and 5 plus years’ experience in related areas (i.e., business, taxation and/or accounting, etc.)
Applicant must possess written and verbal communication. Math and supervision skills; be proficient in Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity.
