General Description
The Tribal Opioid Response Grant Project Director will be responsible for establishing, coordinating, monitoring, and conducting project activities to ensure that the project goals and objectives are attained, maintain regular communication with staff and stakeholders, develop policies and procedures, and assist with data collection. Organize day-to-day activities, coordinating events, trainings, and establishing communication between staff, communities, schools, and agencies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilites
Required duties may occur at LSWN in support of programmatic objectives and to service the entire tribal population located in our entire service area.
Works with other Tribal grantees and Indian Health Service to access, analyze and summarize data priority.
Collaborate with Tribal personnel and local communities to develop procedures for collection of data related to substance abuse.
Works closely and cooperatively with other health care providers and outside agencies as needed to ensure timely communication of issues/concerns and coordination of care.
Act as a client advocate/case manager when needed in order to coordinate services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
Provide training, technical assistance and implementation of program
Assist in conducting evaluation, data collection and facilitation of programming at participating sites.
Complete a comprehensive strategic plan, based on the most current epidemiological data for the tribe, to address the gaps in prevention, treatment, and recovery identified by the tribe
Implement workforce development activities to ensure that individuals working in tribal communities are well versed in strategies to prevent and treat opioid misuse
Develop effective prevention strategies which include elder education, outreach and engagement of youth, strategic messaging, and community prevention activities
Develop strategies to purchase and disseminate naloxone and provide training on its use to first responders and other tribal members
Implement service delivery models that enable the full spectrum of treatment and recovery support services that facilitate positive treatment outcomes and long-term recovery
Plan, prepare, and coordinate prevention efforts and activities.
Implement culturally appropriate community recovery support services
Travel to meet grant requirements
Attend all related meeting and trainings.

Education Requirements and Qualifications
Master’s Degree in public health or equivalent grant experience, or two-years of experience with a tribal behavioral health unit or cross-agency experience with a community-based project.
Maintain a valid, unrestricted Oklahoma Driver’s License
Demonstrated proficiency in grants management, public speaking, group facilitation, training, prevention program development, prevention evaluation, strategic planning, and implementation, and data compilation.
Understand principles, practices and techniques of grant project planning, development, evaluation, procedures of budget preparation and monitoring, and contracted services.
Immediate to advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
Culturally sensitive.
Must be able to pass a background check.
