On behalf of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, the Executive Committee in response to the COVID-19 pandemic has established an 2021 ARPA Winter General Assistance. The Executive Committee understands the impact this pandemic has had on our Absentee Shawnee tribal members and wants nothing more than to help serve our people. The ARPA 2021 Winter General Assistance will be for eligible enrolled Absentee Shawnee Tribal members. All AST tribal members on the roll as of June 1st, 2021 will receive $500. Application acceptance November 30 – December 30. ALL applications must be postmarked by December 30th 2021. Disbursements will be given out as gift cards at 2 events, December 10th & 11th, MPB, Shawnee, OK. If not able to attend the in-person event, the dispersal will be mailed out on December 13, 2021. All ribbon skirt submissions were beautiful and it was a difficult decision for all! AST Department Directors voted to determine the winner. T-Shirt Design Contest Help us design a shirt to honor the Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls that go missing every year! Open to AST Tribal members 18 years and older.   Your design should honor the murdered and missing women and girls. NO GRAPHIC DESIGNS. Please only hand drawings. The winning drawing (1) will receive a $50 gift certificate to the AST Gift Shop and their art will be featured on a t-shirt that will be handed out during events held on May 5th. If chosen as winner, an artwork release form must be signed. Artwork can either be hand delivered to the Cultural Preservation Department (please go through checkpoint) or emailed to Carol Butler at cbutler@astribe.com whom you may also contact if you have any questions. Contest deadline November 30, 2021. Winner announced December 6, 2021.

Please put your name, grade and phone number on the back of the sheet. One prize will be awarded in four different age groups: Kindergarten and younger; 1st-4th; 5th-8th and 9th-12th.
