General Description
The Court Planner will evaluate the current AST tribal justice court system and develop a more comprehensive judicial process to allow the exercise of SDVCJ. This includes updating tribal codes and policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for evaluating needs in AST tribal justice court system
- Develop a more comprehensive judicial system
- Assist in purchasing Jury Selection Software
- Assist in purchasing Metal Detector System
- Assist in purchasing and having 4-Person Ener-Sound Assistive Listening System
- Assist in purchasing 5-person Language Translation System to help those with limited English proficiency
- Will be responsible for other Court Planning as needed
- Will be responsible for updating Tribal Codes
Education Requirements
- Law – related certificate
- Or Law – related degree
- Documented legal background is preferred
- Knowledge of the principles, concepts and methods of legal research and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and skill in use of computers, related software and court platforms
- Knowledge and experience in program planning, coordinating, and implementation.
- Native American Preference/EOE/Drug Free Workplace
