All ribbon skirt submissions were beautiful and it was a difficult decision for all!
AST Department Directors voted to determine the winner. There was a tie and the Executive Assistants voted to break the tie.

T-Shirt Design Contest
Help us design a shirt to honor the Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls that go missing every year!
Open to AST Tribal members 18 years and older.
Your design should honor the murdered and missing women and girls. NO GRAPHIC DESIGNS. Please only hand drawings.
The winning drawing (1) will receive a $50 gift certificate to the AST Gift Shop and their art will be featured on a t-shirt that will be handed out during events held on May 5th. If chosen as winner, an artwork release form must be signed.
Artwork can either be hand delivered to the Cultural Preservation Department (please go through checkpoint) or emailed to Carol Butler at cbutler@astribe.com whom you may also contact if you have any questions.

Coloring sheets are due Tuesday, November 30th. Please drop them off at Cultural Preservation, after going through checkpoint during business hours (8 am to 5 pm). Please put your name, grade and phone number on the back of the sheet.
One prize will be awarded in four different age groups: Kindergarten and younger; 1st-4th; 5th-8th and 9th-12th.

Public Health offering COVID vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) and flu shots from 9:15 am to 10:00 am before General Council Meeting.
First 50 tribal members to come get a flu shot will get a backpack with other incentives. Must get the flu shot in order to get the backpack.
We will also offer the Pfizer or Moderna COVID vaccine. If it is for your 2nd dose or the booster, you must bring your vaccine card so that we can verify which vaccine you received.
COVID booster shots and 3rd doses available based on CDC recommendations.

The Homeowner Assistance Fund Plan Survey 2021 is now available!
The Absentee Shawnee Tribe received a percentage of the Homeowner Assistance Fund, however before the Tribe can be fully funded, a plan has to be developed and submitted to the U.S. Treasury Department. Please provide your top 3 areas where you feel is the most important to you in regards to homeowner hardship(s) associated with the Coronavirus pandemic.
*The expenditure of these funds will be based on income guidelines per 24 C.F.R. 5.609 (or adjusted gross income IRS Form 1040)

The Food Pantry Office is NOW OPEN and accepting food box applications. Our first distribution day will be in the next several weeks and you need to have an application in before we can schedule you for your pick up day. Come by the office to fill out your application with us.

Absentee Shawnee Tribal Government Offices will move to Phase II Modified Operations starting Monday, August 30, 2021.
All departments will move to Split-Shift operations.
AST Complex will be open to Tribal members by appointment only, no other visitors will be allowed on campus. A 24-hour notice for an appointment will be required. Curb service or electronic service is encouraged. Masks are required.
The AST Health System is involved in the 2021 Community Needs Assessment Survey. We’d appreciate your help in this important survey. Generally, a community health needs assessment is conducted every three years to remain on top of both changes and challenges facing the community’s health. This is meant to put a plan together to meet the communities’ needs identified by key stakeholders (Tribal officials, the AST Health System, and YOU - the patient)!
